Martin Scorsese doesn’t make bad movies, so you already don’t have to worry about that when it comes to Silence. This is somewhat of a controversial movie though. The story takes place in the 17th century where two Catholic missionaries head to Japan in search of their mentor, during the time where Catholicism was outlawed. Andrew Garfield, Liam Neeson and Adam Driver star in the movie and deliver strong performances, especially Garfield. This historical drama warrants an R rating due to its violent and gruesome nature, so this movie is definitely geared for adults. There is a lot of value that can be attained from this movie, in terms of the historical aspect of it. Make sure you have a lot of time to devote, because the movie spans over two hours and forty minutes.
Silence is out now on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Digital HD and On Demand
