20TH CENTURY WOMEN:

This is a really refreshing movie with a strong female perspective. The deals with a group of women raising a teenage boy in the late 1970’s Southern California. Annette Bening plays the mother of the teen boy who enlists the help of two other women that are played by Greta Gerwig and Elle Fanning, together they go through the trials and tribulations of teaching him how to become a man. These women are unique free spirits, very bohemian and open minded and it’s pretty neat to see that portrayal on screen. There is a lot to take away from the film, and the characters have substance and depth to them. This is a film that appeals to more than just females, it is for everyone whose struggled with growing up, raising a child and trying to discover their own identity.
