First Cowboys and Aliens Poster Online

I have been waiting a while for a look at Cowboys and Aliens, the big screen adaptation of the sci-fi meets wild west comic book.

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.

But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.

Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors—all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

There is also a Countdown gadget thingy that will keep tabs on how long before we see a trailer for this:

  1. Damn! he does have a reverse camel toe going on. Maybe his butt just got hungry, you know…fighting aliens can be a tough job, and what’s a man to do when he don’t have any hungry man dinners out on the prairie.

  2. Thank you for not getting my intrest.
I don’t know what’s worse: that teaser poster or the idea that someone got paid to make it. A character has his back to you and a hat pulled low over the face. Should I go back to sleep now?

    1. It’s not really that bad. I don’t think the main point of the poster is necessarily the actor or whatever…

..it’s the whole ‘him having a gadgety wrist handcuff thing on one hand and a rifle in the other’. That catches my eye, and a small bit of my interest.

But honestly, press releases aside… they’re really beating this whole ‘alien’ genre into the ground, huh.

  3. Those have got to be the most form fitting pair of dungarees I’ve ever seen! I’m guessing that’s not Craig in this poster (or his behind). HA! Maybe they’re trying to bring in the ladies for this movie?

      1. Really? Do you know the photographer that took the picture? Were you there on the set when they took it? I’m not trying to be critical but I’m a full-time art director in my full-time and the stuff that can be done with Photoshop is phenomenal.
