Today we get our first look at Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg’s Tintin from the cover of Empire Magazine
It almost looks a little creepy, but often our first exposure to 3d motion capture animation does feel a little off. I have been staring at this for a while and its growing on me. I have never been that big of a fan, and only fringe aware of the franchise. I know its insanely popular in Europe, but it has its pocket following in the US as well.

I have never understood the facination w/this character. Showtime or HBO had a TinTin animated series a few years back and viewing it was sheer torture. However, if anybody can turn s–t into gold it’s Jackson & Spielberg.
I haven’t seen either of these two directors take something that was commonly recognized as shit and make it into a movie.
Polar Express anyone?
hope the eye’s aren’t “dead”
oh its animated , i thought it was gonna be live action
It can’t be worse than Transformers or Iron Man.
I’m a casual Tintin fan and I thought the motion capture idea was awful. However, this looks much better than expected. I see what Spielberg was going for and hopefully the film will grow on me some more. I can’t wait to see a trailer for this.
I gotta hand it to Conan O’Brien. Didn’t know he had what it takes to pull off 3D motion-capture.
How old was TinTin in the books? because this one looks like a teenager…
Creepy….
