Alexa Vega is a guilty pleasure. Years ago I used to look forward to the antics and adventures of the Spy Kids. Yea, I said it. I liked the stuff. I don’t care how old I was at the time (please don’t do the math). Alexa Vega portrayed young Carmen Cortez, spy extrodinaire, and I hadn’t a single impure thought about the girl. she was cute, I guess, but that wasn’t the focus of the movie or her role. It had a completely innocent tone. Then she went and grew up. She’s clearly been drinking her milk. She’s still working with Robert Rodriguez and even has a role in his upcoming ‘Machete Kills’ and here’s what she has to say about that:
Here is what she had to say about how the crew reacted to her wardrobe.
“The first time I walked out in my outfit on set, everyone was like, ‘Wow, you’re not allowed to wear that!’ I’ve never done anything like this, I’d never felt comfortable enough, and I never thought this would be the project where I’d take a step forward.”She also revealed how she had to embrace her sexuality to effectively portray her role in the film.
“This was all about owning my sexuality. I worked really hard for it in a way that I never had to work hard for something before.”
While it’s incredibly cool, and sexy, that she’s in this movie and we get to see the new and improved, sexually confident, Alexa Vega it’s a lil creepy. I mean, all those years of Spy Kids with actor Danny Trejo playing a mentor-ish role is instilled in my brain. Her playing a sexy woman in THIS movie leaves a lot of potential for her to get banged by Danny Trejo’s “Machete” which would just be gross on Morgan Freeman-esque levels. Let’s see where they’re going with this…
