Demand Advanced Screening of Paranormal Activity 2 in your City

With the success of Paranormal Activity, the intention is to have lightning strike twice, and once again they are launching a “Demand It” campaign ahead of the release to build a fever pitch.

Dark Horizons says:

The top twenty cities with the most ‘demands’ for the film will score free early screenings of the film on midnight October 20th. Free popcorn and soda will also be given out.

With all intentions aside, I don’t see this sequel amassing any more buzz than the first. Trying to copy the unique experience and publicity of the first film only reeks of desperation.

Based on the previous film, the trailer suggests more of the same.

I can’t see this as being as big a phenomenon as the first.

  1. I am gonna make a don’t demand it facebook page. The first movie was crap. If that movie scared you in anyways it would be better for you to save your money and just hide in a closet with a candle and watch a scary movie.

    1. I have to agree with Rodney – maybe you should just not see it…

I absolutely loved PA, mostly because I’m a huge fan of the mockumentary style… but I know a lot of people that hated it.

You can’t blame the studios for trying to milk the cash cow. Rodney’s correct that there isn’t NEARLY as much buzz for PA2 this time around… but what else can they do since everyone’s already been through the PA marketing scheme once already (which was successful, as if that needs reminding)?
