Elle Fanning and Kyle Chandler are the first to be announced as attached to the cast of the mysterious Super 8.
According to New York’s Vulture, both Elle Fanning, younger sister of Dakota Fanning, and Kyle Chandler, known for his popular Friday Night Lights role, have joined this upcoming project.
Not much is known about the movie, except that it revolves around three siblings who supposedly discover they’ve captured an alien being in a reel of Super 8 film that they’ve shot.
If Elle Fanning is half the actor her sister is, we have nothing to worry about. And Kyle Chandler has had a successful presence on Friday Night Lights and once faced King Kong, so I think we are ok there too.
If we knew more about the film, we might know more about their roles!
I’m starting to get an E.T. vibe from this. IMO.
And let’s not get all “You don’t know enough about this film to make that assessment”. I’m just typing what I’m thinking.
Maybe because in the other article written about this today one of the things we were said were known about this film is that “This will be an homage/tribute to Spielberg’s 1970’s/1980’s Amblin films, like Close Encounters of a Third Kind and E.T. Imagine combining that with the characters, mystery and supernatural spin of Abrams.
And that JJ is working on this film with Spielberg?
…. Well…
That’s actually kind of interesting since I was going off the “three siblings discovering.. blah blah” and not any evidence whatsoever.
