Scarlett Johansson joins Under the Skin

Scarlett Johansson has signed on to play a man eating alien seductress in Under the Skin.

Heat Vision reports:

“Johansson plays an alien on earth, disguised as the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery looking to use her greatest weapon to snare human prey — her voracious sexuality.”
But, wait, there’s more. “She is deadly efficient, but over time becomes drawn to and changed by the complexity of life on earth. With this new found humanity and weakening alien resolve, she finds herself on a collision course with her own kind. Taking her point of view throughout, the film presents a unique look at our world through alien eyes.”

I wonder if that was in the casting sheet?

“Seeking the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman”

Now the premise does sound like a cheap marketing ploy playing on Johansson’s sex appeal, likely putting her in distractingly sexy and revealing outfits, acting all appealing to lure men into her clutches. Only to have to fight it out with another super sex alien seductress ALSO in super sexy and revealing outfits.

And I see nothing wrong with that.

  1. Same here 420 when I read this I was thinking damn I want to watch that like right now lol. Scarjo is beautiful as hell, but yea this does sound like species a little too much.

  2. I don’t know why, but that remember me to “Jennifer’s Body” and “My Stepmother Is an Alien”

Don’t thing i will wait for this movie.

    (Boobies!!! :D )

  3. Hmmmm, cant say I have really been bowled over by anything Scarlett has ever done. She does have her attributes though, I guess that is a plus.

She should give up the singing career though, that album she made sounded like shit.

  4. Maybe it will surprise me in the end, but that plot alone (and I couldn’t care less for Johansson’s looks being a point of reference in the film) has me cringing. Just doesn’t have that “original” pull.

Granted, not much is original these days… this type of movie just doesn’t seem appealing to me, is all.
