Lionsgate is set to produce Happytime Murders, a Rated R Puppet story of murder and lust with Brian Henson (son of the late great Jim Henson) set to direct.
And hopefully adding some real girl eyecandy to the film could be Cameron Diaz, who has been offered a role in the movie.
Let me remind you of the plot.. a world where humans and puppets co-exist, with the puppets viewed as second-class citizens. When the puppet cast of an ’80s children’s TV show called “The Happytime Gang” begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet — with a drinking problem, no less — takes on the case.
Already being anticipated as “Avenue Q meets Pulp Fiction” this promises to push the limits of the puppet demographic. There is even reportedly a scene with a puppet Octopus sexually pleasing a puppet cow with a tentacle milking each of her teets.
I am really curious to see what they do with this, and even more curious of Diaz is involved.
I’ve never been into Diaz, but damn that picture is turning me on…
Sounds like a R-rated, puppet version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Meet the Feebles?
Yup.
Jim Henson is spinning so fast in his grave that his coffin is catching fire over this atrocity. I’m not saying I won’t see it. I’ll be there opening day. I’m just saying that it’s sad to see a Henson attached to this.
