Black Dynamite Trailer Online

Sometimes a stereotype is offensive, and then sometimes you ride it so hard that it becomes amusing.

This is the case with Black Dynamite, a throwback to the Blaxploitation films of the 70s. Latino Review calls it:

When “The Man” murders his brother, pumps heroin into local orphanages, and floods the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor, Black Dynamite is the one hero willing to fight all the way from the blood-soaked city streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House.

This looks great. Even the filming style looks dated which only adds to the appeal.

  1. It should be about Black Lightning. He was one of my favorite superheroes growing up even though his costume made him look like he was wearing a cheap track suit or winter pajamas.

  2. I was wondering when you guys would start talking about this. This movie has been on the indie film circuit for a while now, but I’m glad Sony picked it up.

I was at the Black Dynamite Panel at Comic-Con and just posted in the podcast I’m on as part of the Comic Con special. It was hilarious and the cast and crew were very sincere about the project.

“Black Dynamite Panel (feat. Michael Jai White & Salli Richardson-Whitfield)” (found @ 2:13:01 – 3:01:18)

    Enjoy!

  3. I love these films but the narration i hated towards the end. Jus tplay it serious and its hilarious. I hate when they get a little to silly and wink too much. Seriously play it straight as fuck and it’s funnier.

  4. Hey- saw this movie at the Tribeca Film Festival- couldn’t stop laughing for the first hour or so, then it just kinda drags on. Still, definitely worth watching. And it is definitely Black Dynamite!! I was hooked when I first watched the redband trailer.

  5. This looks awesome! All those filmmakers that attempted to make homages/throwbacks to the 70’s need to watch this film and take notes.

THIS is how you do it. I only hope this film gets Michael Jai White the attention he rightly deserves.

    This man needs more work!!!
