The Cheerleader has been tapped to play the female lead in Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List, we get wind of this news thanks to the professionals at Variety:
Fox Atomic is acquiring the novel “Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List” and will develop it as a star vehicle for “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere. Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer will write the script.
Published last year by Knopf, “Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List” takes place in Manhattan, where Naomi and her gay best friend Ely protect their soulmate friendship by creating a list of people deemed off limits for smooching. Their friendship is imperiled when Ely kisses Naomi’s boyfriend.
I don’t watch Heroes, so I am not as ravenous about Hayden Panettiere as many of my fan-boy brethren, but she certainly is an all American, girl next door looker. Her name has popped up recently for a few film projects; lets see if she is able to capitalize on her momentum and become a regular on the big screen.
This plot synopsis does not really interest me to be honest. The smooching list seems a bit odd, and unnecessary. I think you could have a perfectly good story about her gay best friend stealing her man without the gimmick of a “no limits” list. A list like this may work for a movie about kids in grade 5, but for teens/young adults … I just don’t buy it.
I love this book. The the No Kiss List is actually a really good plot line. This person shouldn’t judge it unless he’s read the book. I agree Hayden doesn’t fit the part. She’s pretty, but Naomi is more complex than I feel like she can act. I wonder who’ll play the Robin’s?…
It is a great book, and a great plot. The Kiss List does seem odd, but it totally makes sense. They are both great authors, and I’m defiantly gonna see the movie. Hayden doesn’t fit the part for me at ALL either.
well i thought this book was fantastic. im reading it agian for the 3rd time. woooo! and see i knew she was going to play in the movie before i read the book and i pitchured her doing it and, well, i think its going to be preatty fantastic, just like nick and norah. lol. well. cant wait to see this movie? :)
I’ve read the book and it’s excellent. I can’t really picture Hayden Panettiere as Naomi, though.
The no kiss list isn’t all that childsh, even though it may sound like it…
I really hope the movie will bo good. It kinda sucks when you love a book and the movie isn’t as good.
I’m reading the book (and loving it) and if they mean Hayden as starring as Naomi, I’ll be a little sad. She’s very pretty and all that, but I pictured Naomi…different.
But, nevertheless, I trust Fox and the writers. And I hope this book-movie turns out great.
im not a heroes watcher either…..but she is hot and she has a nice lil…fanbase. but i doubt this flick will catch the heroes fans so i dont know how this will do.

I look forward to seeing Hayden in something other than Heroes – curious to see who will be cast opposite.
