John Carpenter’s ‘L.A Gothic’ Starts Casting!

This to me was the most exciting news I have heard this year! John Carpenter is set to return to the director’s chair after a seven year long absence (that is if you don’t count the awesome ‘Masters of Horror’ episodes he recently directed) with his horror project, ‘L.A. Gothic.’ Shocktillyoudrop.com got the exclusive news that the film is underway and has already began casting and will start filming in March.

Our good friends at Shocktillyoudrop.com gives us these details about the film:

Five interwoven stories of high-octane horror centering on a vengeful ex-priest’s efforts to protect his teenage daughter from the supernatural evils of L.A.’s dark side.

I am so glad that John Carpenter is making a new film. The synopsis above sounds like Carpenter at his best, and I for one am super excited!  This man is responsible for great films like ‘The Thing,’ ‘They Live’, ‘Big Trouble in Little China, ‘(my personal favorite!) and the all time CLASSIC (yes you heard me right, John Campea! :P) ‘HALLOWEEN.’  This film already sounds like a little of ‘Prince of Darkness’ meshed in with ‘Escape from L.A.’  What’s not to love?

Okay, so obviously I  am totally enamored with everything that is John Carpenter.  So what do you guys’ think?  Are you as excited as I am?

  1. I can’t wait. It sounds like something I’d like to see. I wasn’t really a fan of some of his later movies like Vampires or Ghosts of Mars, but I’ve been waiting for him to do something really creepy since Prince of Darkness (which is one of my favorite horror films period)
