Daniel Radcliffe as young Bond

Via Ananova, it appears that Daniel Radcliffe from the Harry Potter franchise is in consideration to star as the ladies man special agent 007. Unrelated to the recent debates on the new face of Bond, this will be a movie covering Bond in his youth.

The film will be an adaptation of book Silverfin written by Charlie Higston about the secret agent as a 13-year-old.

A source said: “With it being so popular around the world, the book is certain to make the big screen. It has all the hallmarks of a hit. Murder, mystery, action and a young James Bond.

“Daniel Radcliffe would be perfect but they are also looking at Jamie Bell. They want to make the young Bond a bit older so they can have one of those two names.”

Personally I enjoy the Harry Potter films. I am a fan of fantasy and have been excited with the comeback of the genre. On the other hand I can’t say I see Radcliffe taking on the role. Not because of a lack of talent, but a professional decision. This just sounds like another Agent Cody Banks type movie which would seriously hurt this kids career. Of course if you’re a big Bond fan, you may feel differently. Would a movie surrounding the adventures of a young Bond get your motors running? Or is this just a flick you would take your kids to?
