I always thought that xXx was a franchise for Vin Diesel, and I was really surprised to hear about him being killed off in the new DVD release and while being doubled as well, just to make room for the new xXx. On About.com through Coming Soon Rob Cohen speaks a little about it, and some of his comments are rather interesting.

…Why didn√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t you ask Vin Diesel play Xander Cage’s one last time?: You mean to have himself killed? I didn√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t think he would do it and I didn√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t want to ask him. The truth is, it’s a little weird to say, “Hey, come over and let’s make sure you don’t get $20 million for any sequel.”

Will you kill Ice Cube on the next DVD?: No, there’s no reason to kill Ice Cube because he’s not laying claim to the franchise. Anyone who lays claim to the franchise, I guess including me, has to be killed off. Revolution eats its young.
Okay, so he’s changed track here slightly, now he’s suggesting that Diesel layed claim to it and that wasn’t well liked. Even the interviewer thought that the whole xXx thing was supposed to be a franchise for him. Well, not any more. Same for Mr Cube, Cohen wants to make it as per “the original idea” which was a bunch of different anti-heroes, and this one he’s keen on a female lead. As I read that I immediately thought of Michelle Rodriguez and he agrees, and also suggests current hot actress Michelle Yeoh.
Would you direct XXX 3 if it were a woman?: If there was a woman, if Joe and Todd would go with a woman, I would definitely come back because I think the women today are tougher than the men.
Should I argue with that and start a war? Anyway…we saw the trailer for Pacifier at the cinema and someone said “Why didn’t Vin to xXx2?” then we saw that trailer and the voice said “Ah, that’s why.” I haven’t seen it, but by all accounts a return by Cohen might well be called for.
xXx was awesome the second one sucked dick as there was 2 much gangsta crap. vin deisil was the making of the first one cube slaughtered it especially with the shocking special effects during the train chase, it was if u were watching some second rate ps2 or xbox game. a third one is a good idea but don’t bring a woman into it, i wolud rather kill myself than try and sit through a showing of some chick trying 2 play vin desil or cube ( even though cube sucked). they need 2 bring back vin. somehow fake his death then come back 2 kick ass. thats my view anyway.
xXx 2 was pretty good i thought.. Yeah there were some flaws, but what movie doesn’t have its little problems? And to all u who hate it, or dont like it. Good. One mans trash is another mans treasure. Havnt u ever heard of that?
Although, i am sick of seeing the black guys as over pimped gangstas. With loads of dosh, but now i think about it it does kinda fit in with the story. But I mean.., cmon. Surely not every black person is a gangsta?. Anyway, other than that i thought the plot was well thought out, and for a modern day bond type movie it was fun to watch.
If a third one comes out, i wouldn’t mind seeing michelle rodrigaz, but could u imagine how much money the movie would have to make to pay those 3 superstar actors if they had Vin, Ice and Michelle? I seriously don’t think they can afford that.

The xXx after state of union… the rock should play in that 1! hes better then ice cube…as 2 ladies ( more sexier ) and stronger…As to diaz and podie on the comment list, the movie was not a bad idea, u just have to be a lil bit smarter than u’ll understand wut its about…and who like mountain dew? well.. watch it again and be a lil bit more intelligent as to what u put down… for everyone to c. pE@cE

I think that the 1st XXX was the best. I hated the 2nd one Ice Cube tryed to hard to be a tuff guy. And he wasnt a good XXX I think that in the 3rd one they should have Cube killed and have Xander (vin)come back and have faked his death. And if they want bring in a women as Co star that would be cool. But the first one was by far better than the second one and Vin Diesal is a far better XXX. But no matter what we say the film makers will never listen to us. But I just hope that they are smart enough to bring back vin.
I liked vin diesal in the first xxx movie i liked the second movie but they killed of xander. In the 3 movie the producer should say that he faked his death and then bring back cube than get a tough girl or even a wwe wrestler superstar. I also have idea name for the title xxx 3 world order.
They should have Vin contact Sam and tell him he is being targeted (he was never really dead, just missing and assumed dead), then all of a sudden have him cut off. Xander gets captured and who better to save him then the “new” X Cube. I can alrealdy see a sceane with Xander hung from the ceiling and the bad guy looking him over noticing the tatoo and saying ” So this the infamous Triple X”. This could also go other way. Since Cube no longer exsists, he will be hard to find and they can go to a new person Michelle Rodriguez or I wouldn’t mind seeing Collin Ferral.
In the next xXx, they should keep Xzibit, make him jack another tank, and have him say, “It’s time to pimp yo ride!”
Ice cube was excellent as xxx keep ice cube and add a female then u wud hav it all set. ice cube was bad ass in the new 1
xxx 2 was very well set out and they shud bring vin back by doin a xxx3 and say he faked his death and keep ice cube and bring in a third person (a woman)and make the 3 fight against a big crime unit lead by HHH or sum1 big and ther u go a great film (i think)
i have just seen the new xXx 3 and its good way better than i thought, ice cube is not a bad idea i have the movie on my harddrive if anyone wants it some how or give them the torrent file.
HHH should be the next XXX..that would be awesome.

I liked xXx, it was great entertainment and a load of fun. However I do believe that Diesel is the star there and the guy who made it work. Not so sure 2 will be any good, and I’m not sure if I’ll go see it.
On the DVD they’ve used a stunt double and filmed an extra bit in the future where he dies on a mission. Easy way to clear the way for the second guy.
xXx was awful. It was like a 2 hour Mountain Dew commercial.

Just curious. I liked the first xXx as a guilty pleasure but will probably skip on the Cube version.
