I am so glad I didn’t bet on the 49’ers

I was confident.  Not only was I confident, I was certain that the San Francisco 49’ers were going to make back to back appearances in the NFL Superbowl. It seemed like a sure thing because the Seahawks and their QB were good but they didn’t seem like they could stop Colin Kaepernick and his squad from marching into NY/NJ and playing for the Lombardi. Thank BOB I didn’t bet on those guys because things just did NOT go how I thought it was going to go down.

I know the odds were in the 49ers favor all across the globe, especially with the the guys at : bwin sport who have been really great lately with their services, and I think I’m going to take my time to consider with the what approach to take when the big game begins. Clearly the Denver Bronco’s are the favored team with Peyton Manning’s “OMAHA” becoming a pop culture reference. Russell Wilson has an uphill battle here, and I can’t wait to see how things turn out…

It reminds me of the movie Any Given Sunday and how a QB can get so over confident that they wind up beating themselves. Like Willy Beaman Colin Kaepernick beat himself in that game and the result wasn’t because of the overbearing dominance of the Seahawks but rather by the overconfidence and poor decision making of the San Francisco 49’ers and their staff.

What the heck does this have to do with film? Not much but every once in a while we like to venture out into the world and discuss some of the other things going on in and around our lives. If anything it’s around this time of year that I expect football to linger around a bit longer with films like ‘Remember the Titans’ and ‘Any Given Sunday’ receiving heavy rotation on the television networks. Even if you don’t like football now is a great time for great football related films. How about listing some of your favorites in the comments.

  1. I don’t understand what this has to do with movies? I’m all for football, and excited about the Super Bowl, but this post has absolutely nothing to do with movies. It’s bad enough this once great site, posts news that is late, doesn’t really review anything anymore, and has just lost the heart of what it use to be. I think posts like this are better off for your Facebook. I’ve stuck with TMB this long, but I’m really starting to have my doubts….
