Emma Stone Signed on for Spider-Man Sequels

In an appearance on Jay Leno, Emma Stone sporting her hot new blond look revealed a tiny spoiler for the Spider-Man reboot when she admitted to being signed on for more than one Spider-Man movie.

TheFilmStage quotes:

While talking to Jay Leno about the reboot in which she plays Gwen Stacy, Stone said, “There’s a few Spider-Men, so I may have to keep it for a couple of years.”

So it would seem that they are going to stretch out the Gwen Stacy relationship a few films. I think this will make her inevitable death that much more impacting, if and when they finally get to telling that story.

Starting a relationship and losing the girl you have been dating for a few weeks has to suck, but Gwen’s death echoes through Spider-Man’s story for decades and has a huge impact on the character. I like that she will be sticking around some.

That and Stone is awesome.

    1. Its a good thing there was only ever one issue of the Spider-Man comic book then.

Clearly one story by the character was all anyone ever wanted to read.

My mistake. They have had nearly 50 years of stories involving your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

I don’t know why you think 3 would be “enough”

  1. Anyone else think it’s a little premature for them to plan the sequels without getting the results from the first movie? I still have my reservations about Marc Webb directing this movie!

And whatever happened to the Venom movie?!

    1. Venom got his movie (albeit only a small part and crappy)
but for me, I’m a long time Spidey fan reading the comics from around 79-early nineties. and of coarse all the stan lee stuff thru Masterworks.

and I can honestly say I could care less for a Venom Movie attached to the current Marvel Universe.

McFarlane characters are too 1-note for me.

      just sayin’

      1. I agree that the spider-man franchise will continue beyond this Marc Webb movie, I just was thinking that it’s premature to lock that cast into contracts without getting results from the first film with an unproven director and cast, especially since they don’t mind rebooting a franchise at the height of its popularity.

        McFarlane characters 1 note? that’s a bit harsh… venom has LAYERS! ;-)

    2. I don’t think it’s premature. The first movie will no doubt make enough for them to make a sequel. And if, for whatever reason, people don’t like Webb’s directing they could easily find someone else.

  2. “Jack Black Owns MySpace!”

Is it worth it, in the end, to reduce the quality of this site by having these godforsaken ads covering up half of every image? You must be making tons of money off those ads to allow them to do that.

    1. You do realize that if you hit the little “X” at the top corner of the banner it goes away. I imagine that it’s rather costly to run this site. I see the banners as a small price to pay for being able to come to a well designed site with lots of great news. FOR FREE.

  3. This is going to sound weird, but if you think about it, they don’t HAVE to kill off Gwen. In the comics they did, but this isn’t the comics, is it? They can keep her for a nice story arc, then have her leave…alive! Or just keep her perminantly.
