Favreau to Direct Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Looks like the Night at the Museum-esque take to adapt Disney’s Magic Kingdom to a film adaptation has found a director in Jon Favreau.

Worst Previews shares:

Disney has signed “Iron Man” helmer Jon Favreau to direct the new movie, which will be similar in tone to “Night at the Museum.” The script that Ronald Moore (“Battlestar Galactica”) wrote will be reworked by Favreau and a new writer.

Who this other writer is just yet, we don’t know. But I trust Favreau’s writing ability especially if it is being built on Ronald Moore’s original script.

Not surprising

They have to be careful about which franchises and rides they feature in the Magic Kingdom, and I am sure this will be just as much of a park promotional video as it is an entertaining family film.

The Museum of Natural History saw an increase in attendance after Night at the Museum.

I imagine they expect the same with Magic Kingdom.
