  1. I for one appreciate the original. I do not like it when they try to remake the older movies. I feel they need to use their own imagination and come up with material that is decent to view.

  2. I don’t know why but I feel as if they can remake as many westerns as they want, 3:10 was a masterpiece and movies with new western scripts (appalosa?) always seem like some sort of rip from the oldies.

As long as they don’t remake The Unforgiven I’m good. Problem is I promise we will see a remake once the great has passed on, which is why we should really make sure Clint never dies… any suggestions?

    1. Yea, Clint Eastwood should be cryogenically frozen until technology can make him young again. lol

Seriously, can the younger generation even appreciate what Clint Eastwood has done for the cowboy film genre?

Oh yea, I will see True Grit cause I am a Jeff Bridges fan and loved the original True Grit, so its a no brainer I will want to see this one. I feel enough time has passed to remake such a classic, and since the Coen brothers involved I am very optimistic!

      1. Agreed Eastwood must be preserved for ever.

Yes we can appreciate Clints work for westerns I am only 22 and I am a huge fan of Eastwood old films (Fist Full of Dollars and his last western (Unforgiven) , my favorite films he ever did were his westerns and Mystic River.

This looks to be a amazing and throwing in Johnny Cashes “Cut you down ” don’t hurt.

  3. OK, John Wayne was not a great actor. He was, however, an Icon. True Grit was not a great film, but it is a definitive classic. This movie has very big boots to fill. Hopefully, Jeff Bridges will come off as an irritated old gunslinger and not a dark gritty has-been.

Let’s just say, I will go see it because this Matty Ross couldn’t possibly be as abrasive as the first. But I am not holding my breath for this to replace the original.
