First Look at David Tennant in Fright Night Remake

David Tennant, hands down the most popular actor to play Doctor Who to date is trying hard to distance himself from the role. A stigma that has burdened past actors to play the Doctor.

Now we get a look at one of his latest roles where he plays Peter Vincent in the Fright Night remake (originally played by Roddy McDowall) from a banner ad hanging in a Hard Rock Cafe and Casino.

I am really looking forward to seeing how they handle this remake, and adding David Tennant in the role of the Vampire Killer/Tv Personality Peter Vincent is a good fit.

  1. I love the choices for the roles. I was looking for the remake a long time ago. I would’ve picked a different person for the role of Charlie Brewster. But, I hope Anton proves me wrong. I love the original! But with the new effects that are coming out. I hope they don’t use to much of the CGI to ruin the movie. For the producers that are doing the remake, take notes from the original.

  2. That’s David Tennant?! Wow, I had no idea if you hadn’t told me! The Doctor will never be the same without Tennant but in the end I also think he’s just a brilliant actor so I’m looking forward to this. He’ll do a great job.

  3. That poster is rediculous. WTF are they doing with this remake? While I enjoy Tennant casting him as Peter Vincent seems a bit off. Peter Vincent is supposed to be a hasbeen who’s washed up and a bit of a fraud. That poster makes Tennant look like David Copperfields understudy. Just weird to me.

      1. No. I don’t like the looks of this at all. Part of the charm of Fright Night was the unpretentiousness of it. It took place in a quiet suburb. Peter Vincent was a washed up forming Grade-C movie start turned local TV personality. From this poster, I can gather 1) that the new Peter Vincent is a hotshot rock-star celebrity, therefore 2) the vampires in the movie will have to be equally larger-than-life therefore 3) Bruester will have to be something equally ‘sexy’.

Besides, I thought at one point they were talking about making this a sort of ‘meta-remake’ with Chris Sarandon (the original vampire, aka Prince Humperdink) playing himself in a Vincent-esque role. I guess that script got canned. A shame, I liked that idea.
