SyFy has been doing a great job taking the animal attack genre one step too far, and now we get a TV Movie called Swamp Shark.
It isn’t a normal shark! It swims, it kills, and its out there!
Wait… isn’t that what sharks do?
Well now it has to deal with the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer as Kristy Swanson and DB Sweeny poke their heads out of obscurity.
Swanson is pretty badass with all those scenes of her toting guns around. I met Ms Swanson at FanExpo a few years back and shes the kind of girl you want to hang out with. So fun.
I can’t wait to see this.

This was filmed right down the road from me. Go fishing in that area sometimes. I’m gonna have to watch myself. I read TMB all the time. When I saw this I couldn’t wait to click the play button. It looks like some campy fun. Sharks actually do come up da bayou sometimes. Dood stuff.
So….What SyFy’s cranking out this time is basically Jaws In A Swamp? Wow, it’s as if they’re not trying anymore..

that sure was something. I like the fact that most shark movies should have some sort of water festival or fair to increase the body count. Jaws started it and it seems everyone just followed the formula.
for this movie here, we have a gator fest and yet people are not afraid of going into the water. lo and behold, gators are the least of their worries!
and I’m betting that in this movie, the town mayor/fest organizer will not believe the shark story (cmon! a swamp shark?) but once it gets bad or he gets his legs bitten by the shark, he’ll believe it! ;)

I agree with you. I like it too. and I think I saw two nods to Jaws:
1. the shark chumming scene, right before Roy Scheider says “we’re gonna need a bigger boat”
2. the obvious sniper rifle from the Jaws finale
wait… maybe a 3rd one – the rope scene, where the shark pulls the rope and someone happens to be caught on the line.
