John Cena is still pretending he is an actor, and this time he is joined by two real actors in Legendary. Patricia Clarkson and Danny Glover. Check out the trailer:
This actually looks not too bad at all. Cena’s top billing is likely because of it being a WWE film, but he seems kind of secondary in this movie. But he is playing the part of a meathead athlete, so its not much of a stretch.
And interesting that they would use real wrestling instead of the WWE Wrestling Entertainment stuff.

Hmmm got to say Cena was looking like a natural person there….maybe because its so far from the horrible acting when he is doing WWE. anyways I will watch this on netflix for sure.
I thought it looked quite good. Looks like a role Cena can actually handle, keeps him in his comfort zone.
Don’t know if I would see this at theater, home rental for sure.
Am I the only one that thinks this looks terrible? I was embarrassed for the mom during the scene in the prison (yikes). I don’t know if it was the dialogue or the acting that was worse. It seems like it could have been an okay inspiration movie, but it’s coming off just corny to me.

It is a rather misleading title but the film does look inspirational. My favorite inspirational film of all time has to be Rudy but this does seem to have a bit of potential to it. It does seem to stay true to Greco Roman wrestling and nothing too exargerated.
Reminds me a bit of Billy Elliot
