This looks like a lot of horror fun.
I Spit on your Grave offers a new twist on the horror genre. The victim is the torturer, and the criminals are the victims.
Looks absolutely brutal. The torture porn fanatatics would be going crazy over this, but I have to wonder where the heart of the story lies.
Sure, we can empathize with a pretty girl who is assaulted by these evil cold hearted men, and while we cheer on her brutality after what they subjected her to, is that all there is?
She gets the last guy, and roll credits?
I hope not.

The original has not been banned in Australia since 2004.
I never seen the original, it’s banned in Australia. I can’t find it but really want to see it. I am looking forward to this remake. The original has an interesting cover :)
The original had a rape scene which lasted for about 20 minutes to half an hour if I remember correctly. Many men raped her. I wonder if we’ll see this in the remake too…
Interesting side note: The “Irreversable” film with Monica Belucci was also based in the original “I Spit on your Grave” film. That’s why it contained a big, realistic, anal rape scene.

As a HUGE fan of torture porn (SAWs, Hostel, Salo etc.) I picked this up simply because of how many people were offended by it. There was maybe only ONE seen that will cause you to wince (the ball cutting scene, it makes me wince whilst I type this), but the way the film was shot in general was pretty shitty imho.
Hopefully they improve upon the original, but it’s looking like a scene-by-scene so far except I didn’t see any shots that resembled the end of the original – which in and of itself would be an improvement.

It’s a remake. I’ve seen about half of the original so I don’t know the end, but I would guess that yeah, that’s all there is.
