I never got around to seeing Smokin’ Aces, and I haven’t found a reason to until I saw this trailer. There must be a reason that its getting a sequel (money?) and for those of you following it the trailer is online.
Walter Weed (Tom Berenger) is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him. A team of degenerate, psychotic assassins dispatched by mystery man Hal Leuco to win a huge bounty includes a resourceful beauty who has a unique method of killing her prey (Martha Higareda), a power-tool wielding psychopath (Jones) and a deadly master of disguise (Tommy Flanagan). Also in the hunt is the fan-favorite Tremor family from the original film, featuring nymphomaniacal gun-nut (Autumn Reeser) and her lethal kinfolk (Maury Sterling, Michael Parks and C. Ernst Harth). Baker (Clayne Crawford), the agent in charge of the operation, puts himself and his team in the line of fire to defend Weed, but it’s not until the smoke clears on the film’s explosive climax that the surprising identity of the plot’s mastermind is revealed.

Looks deliciously stylish and devilishly sexy. Over the top action could prove to be worth the ride. Maybe I will get around to seeing the first one to figure out what all the fuss is about!
I thought it was a pretty shitty movie. I don’t remember why though, lol.
However, the idea of different assassins all going after the same person and getting in each others way has a neat charm to it that I still wanna see this sequel.
Rodney, see the first one, but watch it with a grain of salt.
this is a prequel right? it did say before aces got smoked. well i hope chris pine is in this, reprising his role as one of the tremor bros ;)

I saw the first Smokin Aces when it first came out in theatres, and I had no idea what it was. I just saw it because my friend wanted to. I didnt hate it, but I didnt really like it either, so I will most likely pass on this unless I hear its really good. Trailer looks alot like the first.
Words can’t describe how much I hated Smokin’ Aces. Not excited for this.
I LOVED the first one! It was awesome! And Alicia Keys was smokin HOT! I thought her team and the redneck/nazis? were the best assasin squad though! I can’t wait for this one!
I had forgotten all about the prequel to Smokin’ Aces. But I thought the follow up was a DTV project.The first film had most of its cult following from the video release.
The first Smokin Aces had a pretty contrived, over the top story that was saved by the fact that the action in it was insane along with good perfomances from Jeremy Piven & Ryan Reynolds. This one doesn’t look bad either so netflix it is.
