There has been a lot of buzz about the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, some good and some bad. But we finally get to hear how the new Freddy feels about it.
Since being on set and watching the San Diego Comic Con panel, there has been a lot of talk about Jackie’s voice in A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. He tells Bloody-Disgusting they’re not quite done yet.
“We’re still getting it out there. We’ve actually been working on that for the last 3 days, doing some ADR work and will probably continue. It’s a normal process of post-production,” he adds.
As regular members of Bloody Disgusting, you guys all know what the fan reaction has been, Haley is thrilled by the positivity thus far.
“I’ve been pretty thrilled with all of the responses, it looks really cool. A lot of people wish it was Robert [in the remake] and I get that,” he continues,”he’s made this character iconic and he’s iconic as well, it’s a tough thing and hopefully when the movie comes out people will dig it.”
So he is still honing the perfect sound for the voice. I didn’t mind the teaser and thought he was fine in the role. It just made me want to see more of how this new take on Freddy will pan out while others just jumped to the “Its not Englund” reaction and refused to consider anything done with this movie.
For me personally I would sooner see the franchise die off than puke out another tired Nightmare sequel. New blood, new look, mostly the same story. I don’t even mind that they are fleshing out the origins with a little twist. Was Freddy evil to begin with or was he falsely accused and is a product of that street justice?
Could be great, could fail. We will see.
