Pushing Daisies the Movie?

Pushing Daisies was a brilliant TV show, created and written by Bryan Fuller. Fuller’s genius has been unable to outlive his bad luck streak as his shows, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me and finally Daisies all saw a premature axing.

But last night during the Emmys, Fuller got the last laugh as his cancelled show earned a flattering four Awards.

io9.com quotes Fuller’s reaction:

It’s a tremendous honor to see ‘Daisies’ win in so many categories — and in the spirit of the show, win posthumously. Now can we please make the ‘Pushing Daisies’ movie?

Among the awards was Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy series for the infectiously sunny Kristin Chenoweth. Fuller is also responsible for Claire’s story arc in the first season of Heroes (the show coincidentally became less intriguing after he left the team)

I personally would LOVE to see Pushing Daisies reborn, but I will settle for a movie, provided that it continues the feel better than the Dead Like Me direct to video film.

  1. WHERE IS THE MOVIE??

I’m trying really hard to not turn super-crazy-Pushing-Daisies-fan over here, but I’m losing my ever-loving mind.

Will somebody PLEASE make this happen so I don’t live a life of regret and die a sad, old, unhappy lady that yells at kids to get off my lawn and cries at the sight of daisies??

  2. Please make a movie – I know the DVD and rental revenues will make it worth it! For me, I would like a box set of the two seasons plus a movie to wrap up everything!

Not sure if the same team was responsible for the series ‘Wonderfalls’ but, when I bought the DVD for that, seems the last two or three episodes were written after the cancellation, and they wrapped up practically all of the story lines – very satisfactorily for us fans! I am happy iI have it in my collection.

That would be a less expensive, but still very satisfactory solution for the fans still here.

Stupid ABC, had they put it on the same night right after Ugly Betty – I bet the ratings fro both would have come up! The shows have a similar look and feel, but a completely different story line. I would bet that most fans of either would like the other.

Once Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty are off the air, I can just put the skip function on my ABC channel.. I have not started watching any new series since they cancelled PD.. I am sick of getting interested in a show only to have it cancelled mid-story… At least when I pick up a book – there is no chance of that happening!

  3. ….um…IMO I had a hard time fully enjoying the film because I hated the narrator. It was cool at first, but got a little obnoxious after the 15th narration in the first episode.

That being said, I did think the storyline was a good one.

  4. I LOVE this show so much!!!! It was truly a treasure. I was really heartbroken to see it go. I heard they were going to be made into comic books. But a movie would be better, in my opinion. I am so happy now!!

  5. TV shows progressing into movies doesn’t have the best track record; however if Bryan Fuller is asking then I’m assuming he knows what he would do and because of that I would love to see a movie. Pushing Daisies was a fantastic show and like most outside of the box TV shows it was cancelled.

  6. YES PLEASE!!

I absolutely loved the show. “Daisies” deserves a proper ending to the fairy tale of Ned and Chuck.

I often wonder what would have happened to show had its first season not been cut short by the writer’s strike. It was first and second in its time slot throughout its first season, but never recovered the following Fall.
