Likely the biggest buzz to come out of the double feature Grindhouse was not its features, but the mock trailers shown between them. Among those was Machete staring Danny Trejo, which quickly moved into production to make the fake trailer a real film.
While the movie is in production already in Texas with Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Cheech Marin, Michelle Rodriguez, Rose McGowan and Steven Seagal. There is still no distribution for the film set up here in North America, yet Sony has secured the rights to most international markets.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has acquired most international distribution rights for the film. That’s awesome for just about everyone but … well, us here in the States. Please … someone … we must see this flick!
I am looking forward to seeing this as I enjoyed the trailer more than the rest of Grindhouse, and its only a matter of time that distribution deals are done here.

I can’t wait for this. Eli Roth needs to make Thanksgiving also. That should be a straight to DVD double feature.
