Dennis Quaid Ready for G.I.Joe Sequel

G.I. Joe may not have lived up to what the fans were hoping for in a film, but the movie raked in a respectable amount of cash which is leading most to anticipate an inevitable sequel is on its way.

Dennis Quaid has already thrown his opinion in on returning to the franchise for another round and he is “ready”.

Worst Previews quotes Quaid:

“I’m definitely on board if they do another one,” he told Sci-Fi Wire. “I don’t know if they have a script yet, but I’m definitely interested.”

Quaid did have one request if he were to appear in the sequel. “I want to get out of the pit,” he said. “I want to ride a horse and shoot a gun. I want a horse with an accelerator suit.”

After reading the second part of that quote I have to wonder just how ready he is, and just how much of his statement was blunt sarcasm reflecting the silliness of the Accelerator suits, which interesting to look at were very much a step to the left of what people wanted to see in a Joe movie. Many reviews I have read seem to poke lightly at the films flaws but digress to a common denomonator that the Accelerator Suits were unneccesary and didn’t “fit” with G.I.Joe.

So would you be willing to see what they do with a Joe sequel? Could they learn from mistakes and make a better one?

  1. There is just so much story from the comics I don’t understand why they don’t use it? Fish in a barrel man. Toss the cheesiness, computer animation, and cartoon vs. comics comments aside, and those accelerator suits look like a bad transformers rip off.

  2. As long as Marlan Wayans “isn’t in the sequel then sign me up, god he is one horrible actor. He should never be cast in anything of a serious nature ever. I just wanted to smash the screen every time he did his fake laugh or attempted to be serious.

If he were a hot lady people would be bashing him and trying to run him outta town.

  3. In my view, it’s just another talented actor who wants more work. Even if a sequel does not come to pass, it won’t stop an actor from wanting to take a job. Also, unlike other actors, Quaid does not have a franchise character he can return to.

  4. Having seen the first movie, I can tell you that Quaid doesn’t have a big role in it. Quaid probably just looks as these as an easy paycheck for him. I don’t know his role is going to be any bigger for the sequel.

  5. It’s kinda sad that an actor such as Dennis Quaid finds work in film franchises such as G.I. Joe.

I didn’t care too much for G.I. Joe. In fact, me and the friend I saw the film with were audibly riffing on it, Mystery Science Theater style

    1. Man, when you guys give an opinion before you have seen a movie, then see it and find you were wrong. You should just man-up and admit it. Face it, this was a well done film.

    1. youre right

G.I. Joes always had robots and machines they used.

Cobra also did, they had these Bionicle looking things they got in and controlled….they strongly remind me of the District 9 suits

The jet packs where also there.

I really really liked this movie, my only worry is Storm Shadow. He better somehow be in the next one
