Lindsay Lohan joins The Other Side

I used to be a big fan of Lindsay Lohan. She did a lot of fun fluffy teen comedy/romance movies and I was sure she was going to be a huge star. She showed some glimmers of real dramatic talent in a few things, but now she just seems to be a star because of her pap attracting antics. Well thankfully Lohan is in the news for something other than her evaporating figure and party girl habits.

Lindsay will be joining a film called The Other Side. Surprisingly this has nothing to do with her racy same sex relationship with a tomboyish dj girl, but rather a comedy that takes place on a remote island.

Coming Soon says:

Lindsay Lohan will topline indie fantasy comedy The Other Side alongside Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette.

The story centers on a grad student who must spend the summer working at a scientific institute on a remote island. She discovers an eccentric community of characters who are hiding a secret about a tragedy that took place many years before.

I am encouraged by including Woody Harrelson and Giovanni Ribisi. Both of these players have impressed me in the past, but then I am stuck with the stigma of attaching musical stars in what seems to be just for star power draw.

Dave Matthews has been in a few supporting roles in movies and tv, as well as Alanis Morissette, but I guess I don’t mind if they are smaller supportive roles.

  1. cool- LOST: the movie. Woody and Giovanni are awesome, anyway. is worth checking out with those two in it, even if she will probably train-wreck it in interviews and appearances before it even gets released.

  2. haha wtf u mean you were a big fan of lohan…she was never good…maybe in that freaky friday film..but i am 30 so that would be something i never watched….she must have been a good actress when cliffhanger was out hahahhaha

  3. She was never much of an actress. She got lucky by appearing in some good movies, especially Mean Girls, but that film’s writing and supporting cast were the true stars. She was pretty flat in it.

Having said that, I do hope she gets back on her feet. Watching her plummet from grace has been pretty shocking.
