Favreau Twitters on the Set of Iron Man 2

As a sign of my old age, I just don’t get the fascination with Twitter. Its kinda like Facebook, but just the status updates. Well Jon Favreau gets it, and he drops hints all the time on his Twitter while he is diligently working away on the set of Iron Man 2.

Coming Soon

May 1: “Wrecking the joint. Not much left of the set. Broken stuff everywhere. Should look cool on screen.”

May 4: “More suited destruction today. Rigging a big gag with lots of cameras.”

May 4: “ILM on set today. Doing a mix of practical suits and Imocap, their version of on set motion capture developed originally for Pirates 2.”

May 6: “Scarlett’s first day on set in the Black Widow outfit. You’ve never heard a crew get so quiet so fast.”

UPDATE: Some more were added today…

May 6: “Now shooting first scene with Tony Stark and Nick Fury.”

May 6: “Another day at the office. http://yfrog.com/0mqzsj

Most of it seems pretty “normal” for what you would suspect but I like hearing things like Scarlett’s first day in the Widow outfit and how he tactfully says the crew “got quiet”

I hope we get a peek at what that looks like soon instead of the less than inspiring offerings of inconsequential set peices.

  1. Your not old John…or well, at least thats not the reason why you don’t get twitter. It indeed is pretty damn pointless. The perfect example of hype working.

  2. Well, just think of twitter like quick small blog posts that you can write up on your cell phone.

Instant news updates from the celebs, how can you not see the potential in that?

Facebook is more of a private thing, there’s an option to make your profile public, but who’s going to do that on facebook?

Twitter posts are open to public by default…

BTW I am not a twitter user, but I can appreciate its usefulness.

  3. Im not so fussed by it, Facebook recently changed to be more Twitterish. Theres been too many celebs on TV praising it in 20 minute conversations, like Stephen Fry. I was a little tempted by the fact that Sly Stallones PA is twittering from the set of Expendables aswell but, I probably will leave it alone.
