First Look at General Hawk from the set of G.I. Joe

It looks like the first peek we get of the GIJoe Movie is that of Dennis Quaid as General Hawk.

via IESB.net

A few things about this image, the first of which is that its just a standard US military Uniform. He could have been an extra in any military movie. But what it does tell me is that they are not going to be making futuristic speculations of superhero army men like the cartoon seemed to be.

This is good news for me. I was worried that a GIJoe movie was going to expose us to spandex clad special services soldiers, especially with the list of eyecandy they have attached to this project so far. Hopefully if Hawk is any indication, they will be wearing REAL outfits suitable to their specialized trade.

So who is on the phone?

  1. Well Pastor Phil, I am flattered that you called me young. lol

We love to talk about just about anything to do with movies here on the movie blog. But we wont tolerate the exploitation of a movie that is clearly so distraught with that sort of imagery masquerading as “entertainment”

You should listen to the podcasts sometime. When they get the full roundtable on for a show we include Bruxy Cavey (Pastor of Canada’s largest church) as well as shock comedian Doug Nagy as well as Darren Conelly (smartest guy I know) and of course the founder (and former pastor) John Campea.

  2. Well said Rodney!

I am glad to see there are still some responsible young people online. I am Pastor Phil out of Kansas City and I patrol chat rooms looking for any new talk about this Canzo Empyrean trash. I have had a revelation about this film and to say the least it must be stopped! It is more than a movie, it is a bane! It contains true evil in it’s very fabric, and could bring an end of days! This is not a joke! The movie is one long curse and when you let it play the curse is recited.

Harry I have told you before to stop posting about this movie. Keep it on your own home soil because the “Home of the Brave” don’t need it! Next post I find I am going to report you to the FBI.

    Pastor Phil

  3. First off Harry, your country doesnt have a GIJoe movie first. That movie you mention is NOTHING like GIJoe. The only similarity is that there is a character with a mask like Destro. Otherwise it has nothing to do with GIJoe.

Secondly, I removed the link. That “trailer” was nothing short of a disgusting display of shock imagery and brutal violence (not in a good way) and I would hate to think any of our readers would watch it without being forewarned.

If they want to see this clip you suggest, they can find it on their own.

  4. I am Harry from Liberia

There is a GI Joe (or Cobra) movie that is already out in movie clubs here in Monrovia. The people in my city are going crazy for this movie. Even there is a gang for this movie with mask like Destro. I love it they gets lots of respect. Here is the trailer they have in youtube. I wonder why my country have it first. The women think it is so scary! It is called Canzo Empyrean

    God Bless,

    Harry

  5. @Eric,

I would suspect that special ops soldiers would still be wearing something more substantial than spandex. I would be disappointed if they cartoon the hell out of them and put it in a live action film. Just doesn’t make a lot of sense really.

    Just sayin.

  6. Dennis Quaid calls his agent to say, “You put me in a f*cking Stephen Sommers movie? The guy from Van Helsing? You’re f*cking fired.”

  7. You are going to be disappointed as HAWK is only a few with Standard military dress. This is about a high tech special forces outfit with well outfits that don’t look the norm. HASBRO said this is about Joe VS Cobra prepare to be surprised.

  8. Call be crazy but Hawk should be wearing brown. And his hair needs to be more spikey. Hawk is “blue collar” general who’d rather be in the trenches than in some meeting room.

  9. i hate this guy- idk y i mean he might be a giood actor but i hate his ass.
but im so lokign forward for GI JOE only that so far the casting hasnt been the best- i mean the dude from white chicks, that guy from stepup and this dude arent the peopel i thought they were going to cast for a GI JOE movie but at least theyre known- at least its not like the casting they were going to use in JLA (yes- i will be comparing bad castings to JLA for the rest of my life, deal with it)

  10. He is on headquarters, should be using standing uniform.
wait to see the combat spandex version with a lot of pockets,a bouging kevlar crocht, pistols puted in weird places and ninja flourescent boots!

  11. Um, you watched the cartoon, right?

This picture should, in no way, lay to rest fears of spandex clad soldiers. Hawk pretty much always wore a standard issue military uniform. So did Duke, Stalker and a handful of others.

The telling images will be the likes of Scarlet, Snake Eyes, even Destro or a generic Cobra soldier.

  12. In Vantage Point he’s in a different suit.

In this pic (not the best) it’s an okay confirmation that GI Joe is happening, and that’s all. Nothing that exciting. But it may be like Rod said…mostly uniforms at least on the Joe side is a good sign.

As to who is on the phone?

“It’s the Prez. Operation is a go”

“It’s your agent, Dennis. What the heck are you thinking…?”

“It’s The Cobra Commander. Prepare to die!”

“IThat’s with onions, green peppers and LOTS of cheese “
