First Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Trailer

The follow up film to “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe”, “Prince Caspian” has just put the first trailer online, and holy crap it looks wonderful.

I’m one of those people who thought Narnia was a wonderful experience, and Prince Caspian looks like it may surpass it. At least I hope so. Thanks to Rama for the heads up.

I’d really enjoyed the books as a child, and I was amazed at the first Narnia film. The children were so well cast and really conveyed the special character of English children at their most enchanting, Their acting, especially the little girl Lucy were absolutely magical and held my attention all the way. I can’t see this trailer as I haven’t the software, it seems, but I’ll definitely go and watch the film.

  2. I thought the First Narnia was terrible compared to the BBC’s rendition of The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. but i was surprised when i saw the trailer for Prince Caspian.
The gritier look apeals to me, so dose what looks like more action. and even an apearance of the snow queen! (however long that mite be for)

why the late release date in the UK? in a world so connected, a month is too long!

i was always going to give Narnia another chance, but im actually looking forward to this one. :D

  3. I finally got a look at the trailer for the upcoming sequel to ‘The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’. ‘Prince Caspian’ looks to be another great adaptation from CS Lewis’ classic series. This story may even be a little stronger than the first in the series, but there is a huge chunk in the middle of the book that is told as flashback. It will be interesting to see how the movie handles that. I’m a little concerned that the battle scenes in this movie look a little bit like carbon copies of the battle scenes from the first movie. Hopefully, my initial concern will proof incorrect. The Lord of the Rings trilogy did a magnificent job in having huge battle scene set pieces in all three movies, but none of them look similar to the others.

Hopefully they can make all seven before the kids get too old.

  4. Cloverfield / Rambo / Iron Man / Speed Racer / Prince Caspian / Indy IV / Hulk / Wall e / Hellboy 2 / Dark knight / The Mummy 3 / Bond 22 / Harry Potter 6 / Angels & Demons / Startrek… and all in order of release, ladies and gents, 2008 is gonna be smokin’ HOT!!

  5. To Donald and Tobor68:

The movies are being filmed in the order that the books were originally published, according to the 1978 box set on my shelf. The newest printing rearranges the books into chronological order. Not reading books that movies are based on strikes me as … less than optimal. Read the books and let your imagination provide the visuals.

  6. I finally saw it on youtube!
Man this trailer is sweet, my only critizism is for Susans acting talent, I heard her mutter one line and it dawned on me “This girl probably couldn’t act if she played in a silent movie cartoon.”

  7. i am relly serprized with this trailer i like the first one it was good and they didnet jsut make a kid fredley lotr. The new one looks good and it defeny look like they are avoving the storie

  8. I have loved the books since I was a child and really enjoyed the first movie, having gone into it with lowered expectations. I have to say, the trailer looks amazing and I can’t wait to see this!

  9. while i liked the first film, even after watching it again recently, i haven’t read the books (i don’t want to ruin the movie experience).

my wife has read the books and loved them. while she liked the look of the movie she thought most of the important themes were missing and therefore worthless. (kind of a secular version of narnia).

i think this trailer looked great, and i’m excited to see the movie, i might not be able to convince my wife to go see it.

  10. I really loved the first movie and i am really looking forward to this, and this trailer did not disappoint

And DONALD, these movies are actually made in the order they were published in the first place

  11. Im with Alfie…

As a fan of the stories, I just felt it was bland and dry. I am hoping they improve from ‘what was’ and move towards a more involving movie, story and all…

  12. Despite them filming the books out of order, I am sooooooo psyched to see this! It looks like they took their time again and did things the right way. It really promises to be a great film!!!

  13. wow alfie. im usually in agreement with u but i was pleasantly surprised with narnia. i expected a safer corny, kids version of lord of the rings, but i got a very well made adventure. the scenery was great, acting was good, special effects were amazing, and the final fight was one of the greatest things ive even seen. come on alfie….tigers and cheetahs pounchin on minotaurs, do i need another reason to love this movie.

but anyway this new trailer looks sick and im happy to say more mature than the last. good look john, this thing looks great.

oh and alfie no country for old men is one of the greatest films ever created….must win film of the year…..no bs…..its a masterpiece of american cinema….really john…give us a review. would love to see nageys take on the villian.

peace and keep up the good work, sites gettin better and better

  14. i’m one of those people who thought narnia was an awful experiance.
A safe, bland, ugly looking film filled with lousy effects all lifelessly directed by an inexperienced plodding director who was out of his depth coupled with 4 of the worst child performances seen in a long long time.

the only thing that slightly salvaged it was the performance by tilda swinton who seemed to be starring in her own (much better) film as she was miles ahead of everything and everyone else on screen.

    an absolutely terrible film.horrific.

but the reason I am posting is to inquire again when we might see something about the best film of the year here? I am dying to know what john thinks of no country for old men….

its all well and good to post that ridiculous direct to dvd looking AVP poster but seriously john…you need to see no country..

if not for any other reason then please see for the fact I loved it so much I am certain you won’t therefore we can begin another lovely slice of discourse about it…

you will regret not seeing come award season

  15. I’m with you John, the first film got right what it absolutely needed to; the relationship between the four kids and i can’t wait to see them on film again.

However, the UK release date is the end of June; a month and a half after the US release. I hate the fact that an English speaking country still has to put up with this delayed release bullshit. It’s based on an English friggin book but we have to wait longer.
