Crowe And DiCaprio Set To Star In Body Of Lies

rcrowe4.jpeg Russell Crowe has jumped on board another Ridley Scott project! He will be joining Leo in the spy film Body Of Lies. We get the scoop from the caves of Yahoo:

Twelve years after working together in “The Quick and the Dead,” Russell Crowe is in negotiations to reteam with Leonardo DiCaprio in “Body of Lies,” a spy thriller that Ridley Scott is directing.

The Warner Bros. project centers on an idealistic CIA agent (DiCaprio), newly stationed in Jordan, who develops an intricate scheme to sow seeds of suspicion among the terrorists he is hunting. However, the plan puts his life in turmoil and threatens his relationship with the head of Jordanian intelligence. Crowe will play DiCaprio’s boss.

I am not too crazy about “spy thrillers” unless they involve a fellow named James Bond. They can be good but often I find myself bored with them, I know a lot of people love this sort of story either in written form or on the silver screen, I simply am unable to enjoy these types of stories as much as other people. I find these types of storyline more exciting in a video game than in a movie.

I will say that the DiCaprio/Crowe combo is a sweet bill. These dudes last worked together in The Quick And The Dead when DiCaprio was just a youngster. Both of these guys are phenomenal talents and it will be a delight to see them riff off of each other anew, as road weary men. After Kingdom Of Heaven I was convinced that Ridley Scott had become addicted to crack cocaine, the movie was garbage and had scenes a little too reminiscent of Gladiator. When someone rips off scenes from another film of their own, I am left shaking my head and I take an educated guess that freebase is involved. I hope he has kicked the junk because he is capable of making magic.

Overall this is great news, and I hope for those of you that enjoy the spy genre, that this will give you cause to celebrate.

  1. Anything with Russel Crowe is gold.

Pretty much any movie he’s been in is instanty good, and he always makes a solid performance.

Leonard DiCaprio only brings more solid acting to the plate.

Crowe and DiCaprio are probably two of the best acting talents alive today. Even more, its a spy movie-terrorist film written by William Monahan (Kingdom of Heaven, The Departed), which means it will probably have a good base story

And I also liked Kingdom of Heaven

  2. ‘Spy Thrillers’ are usually done by Ridley’s brother Tony (Spy Game). But with 2 of the best actors working today, I’m sure I will be seeing this.

BTW, I enjoyed Kingdom of Heaven lol.
