There has been a report going around the net the last week or so that Matt Damon is being courted to play James T. Kirk in new Stark Trek project. I haven’t really talked about the much for one simple reason…. NO WAY IN HELL IS THAT EVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Period.
Now, with that out of the way I did find this interesting. Keven Smith (who has worked a lot with Damon) has come out and said that he doesn’t think Matt would ever do a project like this one. I agree. However, he then goes on to offer up the following idea:
“I wonder if Matt would even do it. He’s usually not that interested in treading where others have trod. He likes to break new ground.”
But Smith added, “If they wind up casting Matt as Kirk, they should cast Ben as Spock. It seems like a no-brainer!”
HAHAHA!!! Ok, that just totally made my day! The new buddy flick for Matt and Ben! Star Trek! Hot digitty sign me up. I mean who cares? Star Trek is a dead franchise anyway.
