Hey there folks, John here with a quick road update.
You probably noticed there were no posts today. That’s because I’m in Philadelphia at the moment. I came down here this morning to interview Tony Campolo for my documentary at Eastern University.
After finishing up with the interview I took the opportunity to drive around the city a little bit. This city is actually much more beautiful than I thought it would be. It’s hot as hell here… but it’s sunny, and most people seem to be taking advantage of that and hanging out outside, walking… lots of ice cream in peoples hands… MMMmmm… Iccceee Crrreeeammmm.
I’ll pick up with the posting in the morning before I leave the hotel

geez the Eagles were out too, and the Sixers, and stick a fork in the Phillies…you guys ain’t doin so hot…
Yeah! John in Philly! Now that is something special. Look John, you’re famous! Too bad the Flyers are out, so you can’t see what good sports fans we are!
Hey John,
Good luck on your documentary! Are you financing it yourself? Private or independent financing?
Are you shooting DV or HD?
Great to here you enjoyed our city. Wizard World is in town this weekend (at the convention center around 12th and Market)and opens tomorrow so you might want to hit that up if you get a chance. Kevin Smith is in town to do a special presentation on “Clerks 2”.
John in Philly! My hometown. Stock up on those philly soft pretzels, any street vender should have them. 3 for a buck! How can you go wrong. Way better than those superpretzel abominations. As for cheesesteaks… Pat’s and Gino’s are the 2 “Famous” places (right across from each other in South Philly… near 8th & Passyunk i think), but they are far from the best IMHO. A more ;genuine’ steak in my opinion is Jim’s on 3rd & South Sts is pretty good. And if youre up to it i think the WizardWorld convention (Comics, movies, etc.) is at the Phila Convention Center this Fri, Sat, & Sun.
Did you bring the Nagy with ya? It would have been a GREAT time to do a Philly show showcasing his comedic talents. I woulda paid big bucks!!!
Anyways, have fun in the “City of Brotherly Love”!
I don’t think it will be as big as mine.
Glad to hear everything going good. I think you may be surprised about the post I sent ya yesterday.
you flash bastard with your hot weather, god damn you campea! its shitty in the uk
…though, I think a more interesting project would be filming a buddy cop movie starring you, doug, and darren. Just a thought.
Hey John, glad you’re enjoying philly. I love it down there, once i escape the grasp of long island, hopefully somewhere in Pa. is where i’ll move. Anyway, good luck on your project. Looking forward to seeing it when it’s done.
Glad that your project is going well John. Yeah, Ice Cream in the spring and summer time are pretty big back east.
This project is indeed a film project correct? or is it a book? Around when can we see this project being released to the public? I’m interested in seeing the finished product!
I hope the interview went well.
I’m really interested in that documentary now. Tony Campolo is well respected. I enjoy his talks a lot.
I hope your documentary turns out well.
John,
For a good night out I would suggest the areas down near 3rd and Arch or if you want a good night of movies there is a great theater on penn. campus around 40th and Walnut, it’s called the bridge. if you want to see some freaks head on down to south street.
have a good time
