I became a massive Steve Carrell fan after seeing him in Anchorman. I thought he totally stole the show, and that’s not easy to do in a film with Will Ferrell. He also had the very best scene in Bruce Almighty, which leads us into Evan Almighty!
I think this film sounds just hilarious. Earlier today the good folks over at CHUD posted up a picture of Carrell in the film. Oh man I love it:
God (Freeman) contacts Congressman Evan Baxter (Carell) and tells him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood.
I really liked the first “Almighty” film… but I think this one has the potential to be even better.

And he has the skill to carry the film as well as evidenced by “The Office” and “The 40 Year Old Virgin”. “Evan Almighty” will be better because it doesn’t have Jennifer Aniston.
