New Superman Pics

Lex-Luthor-Fortress Superman ReturnsIt’s getting closer! The release date for my most anticipated film right now is nigh!!! Superman-Returns baby! man I can’t wait.

The good folks over at M&C have been keeping a really good image archive of Superman-Returns pictures, and they’ve just added a few more to the collection. This one in particular is my favorite!

We haven’t seen anything of Lex Luthor yet in the trailers… and I’m guessing we probably won’t until a few weeks before its release date. From this official release picture on the left, it looks like our favorite villain will be making an appearance at the fortress of solitude. Cool!

You can see a much larger version of the picture… and others… here.

  1. I got to agree with you John. Routh does look the part, heck in my opinion the guy is perfect. Singer is amazing at casting, and I don’t think anyone else would look as great in the Superman suit as Brandon does. Singer has done something really smart here by casting a new actor as Superman. If Singer casted some actor everyone knows well you can guarantee people would be bitch and moan, complaining about the actor doing a bad job in such and such film in the past. A famous actor would be judged on past films. Bradon reminds me of Reeve’s, thats one of the reasons I think Routh is perfect. I’ve seen Routh in an episode of Cold Case and he did a good job in it. Aleast now I know he is a good actor.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle was a shit movie, but I do like Kal Penn. Just hope he has somewhat of a good role that has a good purpose.

  2. Hey Spidey-Fan

    Debate is good!

    Routh DOES look the part

Singer is a MASTER at casting

X-Men is EASILY the best comic book movies ever made. I think you’ll find the vast vast vast majority of film fans disagree with you about it being a “ruined” franchise.

Dude… Routh is 25 years old… He was awarded “The Star of Tomorrow” by ShoWest, Donner himself has said Routh is perfect for Superman, and is staring in the biggest movie of the summer… how exactly has his acting career “failed”? By your definition, I hope I can fail as well.

    :)

  3. I’m with SpideyFan regarding Brandon Routh. I have a feeling I’m going to watch this movie and miss Christopher Reeves. I’m not a big Superman fan anyway and haven’t been clamoring for a new movie. I know there are a lot of folks hoping “Superman Returns” will be their “Batman Begins”.

  4. Captain Marvel was more of a comic strip superhero! The newspaper boy would go down into the cave and cry Shazam!…a bolt of lightning would strike and the kid would turn into the big guy with the Fred MacMurrey face. We liked this comic book when I was a kid! There were talking animals etc., made it different from Superman…a more serious guy! Of course I wished I could be Superman!

  5. Probably a flash back sequence OR Lex once again “discovering” the fortress. Well, not a big deal. He discovered his fortress in Superman 2. SO what. He goes back. Yay.

No matter how many pictures they release, I’m still not convinced that Brandon Routh fits the roll of superman. No amount of CG can make up for his past failures as an actor, and despite Bryan Singer’s obvious blind faith in thinking that Fans will simply accept anyone he decides to put in the ‘Blue-Tights’, Brandon Routh does NOT look the part.

Having said that, Kevin Spacey seems to look the role, and his past acting PROVES that he can handle the role. As for the kid from the lame, idiotic waste-of-time movie “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle”, I’m sure he’s the “Jar Jar” of the movie, along with the newly gay Jimmy Olsen.

Thanks Bryan, for bringing your politics to the big screen by ruining two major franchises – XMEN and SUPERMAN.

  6. Luthor, in the Fortress of Solitude? Nice! I can’t wait to see what he’s up to. I have a funny feeling Darth Vader and Hannibal are going to get some SERIOUS competition!
