Gilmore Girls fans should be happy about this. Lauren Graham has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel to “Bruce Almighty” which is currently titled “Evan Almighty” with Steve Carrell (The 40 Year Old Virgin). Haven’t heard about Evan Almighty yet? Here’s a quick synopsis from the good folks over at Cinema Confidential:
In the movie, Graham will play Carrell’s wife. Carrell, who appeared in “Bruce Almighty” as Evan the news anchor, is now a politician. Morgan Freeman returns as God, who instructs Evan to build an ark to prepare for a massive flood.
Think this sounds like a winner? Yeah, me too.

When is Jim Carrey NOT hyper?
I thought Jim was wayyyyyyyyyyyy to hyper in the first movie. Everything Jim did was emphasized, like when Bruce was getting out of bed he has to have like a miny seizure. The only person that really made me laugh hard was the Evan Character. I’m a huge Carrell fan and I think he will do a fine job in this sequel, heck already sounds better then the orginal movie already.
This is yet another example of a sequel that isn’t a sequel. Yeah, Carrell was in the first one, and I like him. This isn’t a diss at him, but I really dislike it when sequels are made that don’t focus on the MAIN characters from the original movie. Jim Carrey was the draw on the first one, and yeah, people will go see Carrell due to his popularity from The Office and 40 Year Old Virgin, but I guarantee you the grosses on this flick will be below the original.
