Saoirse Ronan Cast In ‘The Hobbit’

So, first we hear that Peter Jackson is ill (get well soon!), and now we find out that the whole cast is selected for The Hobbit, and they’re all out in New Zealand.
Saoirse Ronan is the latest name added to that impressive cast list, in an unnamed roll. Saoise is the talented young actress who was the lead in The Lovely Bones, which you may remember was also directed by Peter Jackson. She’s also a fellow Irishperson, so I’m thrilled for her, as she joins the other Irish actors James Nesbit (One of my favourite actors, and I really wish he was in more movies) and Aidan Turner (Best known as Vampire John Mitchel in the original UK Being Human series).
My question to you guys is, who do you think Saoirse will play?

  1. i’m so happy that saoirse is casted whatever shall be her part. she really looks like an elf! unfortunately there are voices on other blogs which don’t like an added elf woman in the hobbit – but for me she is perfect and she already worked with sir pj! so let them do their job against all odds!!!!!!!!!! i’m looking so much forward to see this film!

  2. those eyes of her…. so haunting. Agree w/ most posts before me. She must be an elf. The elf queen Galadrian maybe (while she was young, and still a princess or something), she does resemblance the younger Kate Blanchett

    1. …You do realise that Galadriel was immortal, right? She was thousands of years old in LOTR. When she was young, the Ring of Power hadn’t even been forged yet!!! Kate Blanchett would be perfectly capable of playing the role.
