Fast and Furious sequel to be called Fast 5

The Fast and the Furious (aka Hot Wheels the movie) has had a relatively successful run so far. But I had no idea that the latest Fast and Furious (4) was Universal’s biggest hit in the oh nine lineup. I don’t know if I am impressed or a little embarrassed for them.

But as the rule goes, if a movie is a hit it must get a sequel. So work has begun on Fast 5, the further furiousness in the Fast and Furious franchise.

Fused Film shares:

The fourth film which reunited all the original characters from movie one, had a worldwide box office take of $343 million showing clearly that there is still an audience out there for the cheesy car series.

Universal now plans to roll out another sequel with the two key players from the original films as well as bring back current director and producer – Justin Lin and Neal Moritz.

The proposed plot for the Fifth Furious will revolve around Diesel and Walker on the run as fugitives being pursued by “legendary lawmen”.

Sounds like they are going to be pulling in the Pinkertons to chase down their ricerockets and muscle cars.

  1. Yeah the first one was alright, part 2 I ate up as well, never saw Tokyo, and part4 went under my radar. Vin Diesel turned into a hack for me (I dont know why)all of a sudden I see his face and I go “not watching that one!” anyone else feel the same way from time to time with certain actors (using that term loosely)

    1. sometimes. at the same time after knowing Letty’s demise, i try putting myself in Dom’s position, not Vin Diesel. Sure Vin might have relaxed a bit much on the acting, but that might give us something to look forward to in the 5th movie. It would be pretty sweet if the setting picks up where Dom and the new “DK” left off in tokyo drift.

      1. I agree with you very much. I think they should pick were they left of with Dom and the new “DK”. They shouldn’t be thinking only about what the other people want. I actually really enjoyed watching Tokyo Drift. I came on to read some stuff off of google and then I found they just left. WHAT ABOUT US WHO LIKED IT ?!

  2. I don’t know why everyone is hating on these films, i mean come on everyone knows there not oscar winning movies, there leave your brain at home fun movies, personally i’ve enjoyed all of them, but fatf and faf where the better of the franchise, and to be honest at the end of faf who wasn’t expecting a 5th movie?

  3. Noting that the first movie rocked, alot of people were fans of the cast from the first movie and since 2 and 3 didnt have all of them, It was a exciting suprise to see the original cast in the 4th. And now that there makin a 5th one all of the fans that loved the 1st and 4th becuz of its attribues are gonna watch the 5th……including me. However…..This should be the last one cuz anything after this…will be to much.

  4. The only film I liked of the four was Tokyo Drift. I’ve seen all of them at least once and as far as 1, 2, and 4 are concerned that’s as many times as I am going to see them. I’ve seen 3 on multiple occasions. Is it strange that I can get into the movie that has almost none of the characters from 1, 2, and 4?

  5. First off, ditch those fucking CGI cars. I can play a video game if I want to see those.

Secondly, can the next film actually have some racing? The last one had ONE race in the entire fucking movie. The rest was a bunch of CGI cars playing follow the leader in a CGI cave.

  6. I don’t mind another one or Paul Walker but Diesel really should improve his acting chops. Also, the last 2 films were nothing but eyecandy(so were the other 2 but they were better). This is just 1 and half hour fun.
