I absolutely love Larry David. The guy is a total comedic genius, and for those of you who have never had the chance or the inclination to sit down and watch a couple of episodes of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” I feel very very sorry for you. On the other hand, I’m not that big of a fan of Woody Allen or anyone who leaves their wives to hook up with their step daughter… but there is no denying the dude has made a few fantastic films (including last year’s Vicky Christina Barcelona).
Well, the two have hooked up in a new film called “Whatever Works” which I think will be hilarious. The cast also includes Evan Rachel Wood, Patricia Clarkson, Kristen Johnston, Larry David, Ed Begley, Jr., Michael McKean, and Henry Cavill. For those of you who know nothing about the project:
Evan Rachel Wood plays the naïve young wife of Larry David’s Ebenezer Scrooge-like[1] character. The film is a dark comedy starring Larry David as an eccentric man from Greenwich Village who gets caught up in a series of love stories which get him in tangled up with a young girl from the south (Evan Rachel Wood) and her parents.
Anyway, our good friends over at In Contention have shared a new poster for the movie. It’s hyper simplistic… but you know what, I think it’s perfect.
Alas, poor Woodster, he hasnt been funny in yonks. Still, as this has both the genius behind Seinfeld and Manson’s girlfriend in it i will watch it – but only when it comes out on dvd.
I just can’t wait. LD is the perfect stand in for Allen.
That’s a really boring poster
The poster is super simplistic, but it is Larry David so I will definitely see it. I hope this is good because Woody Allen has had more misses than hits lately with his films. I think the last Woody Allen film I enjoyed was Match Point. Then again it’s Larry David, so it might be good.
I fucking love Curb. Its so great, cant wait till the new season comes out. I will defintally see this movie.
lol this guy is comedy gold…happy to see him getting big screen love…and i hope its rated R
If you look in the corner it says PG-13…… so unless they do reverse-censoring re-edits, unlikely to get an R.
