Michael Sheen will Lead New Moon’s Volturi

Seems the King of the Volturi (Aro) in the Twilight Saga’s: New Moon will be played by the Prime Minister of England – or at least the guy who played him. Michael Sheen.

Latino Review shares:

He has immortalised Tony Blair, David Frost and, most recently, legendary football manager Brian Clough on the big screen.

Now actor Michael Sheen is set to return to the realm of the firmly fictional after agreeing to play a vampire in the sequel to the blockbuster film Twilight.

Despite all the iconic roles that Sheen has done, this one will draw him the biggest paycheque of his career. An estimated $12m! I guess they have budget to spare over in Twilight-ville.

Sheen has a charm and presence that I think would work well for the Volturi leader, and Sheen himself is no stranger to vampires since he shares a daughter with his ex Kate Beckinsale – most notable for her role in Underworld as a Vampire Death Dealer.

    1. The book never specifies what age Aro was changed into a vampire, but it does speak on how his skin is thin and sort of onion like. He doesn’t have blonde hair, you’re thinking of Caius. :)

    2. Yeah I flipped through the book to find out…you know…they never really tell you much about some of the characters

I never knew Laurent was black until they showed him in the movie
And the Asian dude…they never really tell you where hes from in the book (what was his name again…Mike?)

I thought Aro was Janes twin…and since Fanning is playing Jane…then I assumed he was blonde too…but yeah I guess Caius is Janes twin..Im so confused lol….

  1. I’ve been waiting to see who would take this role and I must say I’m not disappointed in the least, however a little surprised. Chris Weitz isn’t messing around in the casting department.

  2. Sheen also played Lucien, leader of the Lycans in Underworld and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.

Never knew that he had a relationship with Beckinsale.
