Gerald McRaney Joins Lucas Film’s “Red Tails”

“Red Tails”, a movie about the true story of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen… black pilots who fought for their country back in WW2… a country that treated German Prisoners of war better than they treated them because of the color of their skin, is moving full speed ahead and have just added another cast member. Rick Simon/Major Dad himself Gerald McRaney.

McRaney joins an already fairly solid cast with the likes of Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Bryan Cranston, Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Tristan Wilds, Cliff Smith (aka Method Man), Kevin Phillips, Rick Otto, Lee Tergesen, Andre Royo, Ne-Yo and Elijah Kelley.

MovieWeb give us this:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, McRaney will play General Luntz, the officer who assigns the Red Tails as bomber escorts during missions over Nazi held territory.

It’ll be interesting to see something without the words “Star” or “Indiana” in the title from the mind of George Lucas.

  1. I find it interesting that Terrence Howard is doing another role as a Tuskegee Airman. He did this before in Hart’s War and it was a pretty solid performance I thought. Hope this film will be better though.

    1. I’m sure with Cuba and Howard headlining the pilots, ne-yo will get a glorious death in the first or 2nd encounter with the Luftwaffe and you wont have to worry about him much.
