Legion Of 5

StanleeWe get word today that Stan Lee’s Production house POW! Entertainment are set to begin an animated super hero film titled Legion of 5. We get wind of these heroes thanks to our friends at comingsoon:

Comic book legend Stan Lee and his production company POW! Entertainment, along with Brighton Partners, have partnered with Rainmaker Entertainment to launch “Legion of 5,” a new superhero property, says The Hollywood Reporter. “Legion of 5” — owned jointly by Rainmaker, POW! and Brighton — is planned as a series of CG-animated films but with a cross-platform approach to include games, online and mobile releases. Merchandizing is part of the plan as well. Details of the characters and story line are being kept under wraps.

No details are being released sadly, but if I had to hazard a guess… I would suppose that the film is about five super heroes that fight crime. I also bet they have hair and the ability to chew food. I can make predictions all day long – and when I am right you will all accuse me of using occult magic…..and you would be correct! MWAHAHAAHAHA!

Stan Lee seems to be busy setting up deals for a number of super hero projects and I think we will soon start to see scads of these films coming at us from every which way. I love the genre and find many super hero films to be kickass, but I worry that over-saturation may occur and we will get sick of them. These films usually print money so I can understand why studios want to throw more out there, I just hope it is in an orderly and reserved fashion.

  1. While Lighspeed was horrid and Mosiac for the most part sucked, The Condor was one of the best animated movies I’ve seen in awhile that wasn’t from Pixar. I’ll give this one a shot too.

  2. “I just hope it is in an orderly and reserved fashion” tell that to the guys not making a flash and green lantern film.

THE INDIVIDUAL FILMS COME BEFORE YOU CAN MAKE THEM INTO A MOVIE ALTOGETHER DC!!!!!!

  3. As a longtime comic book reader, I hate to say it, but Stan Lee has lost his mojo. He hasn’t produced/created a decent project in decades. I honestly hope that Legion of 5 or one of his new Disney projects is worthwhile, but I’m doubtful.

I’m also curious to see if DC Comics/Time Warner has any issues with the title of Legion of 5, considering that they own and produce the Legion of Super Heroes comic book.
