Beau Bridges Joins Max Payne

BeauIt has been announced that Beau Bridges will be joining Mark Wahlberg in Max Payne; we get news of this team from the far off caves of yahoo:

Beau Bridges has joined the cast of the dramatic thriller “Max Payne,” based on the hit Rockstar video game. Mark Wahlberg plays the title character, a maverick cop determined to track down those responsible for the murder of his partner and family.

Bridges plays B.B. Hensley, a former cop and mentor figure to Payne, who helps him track down a cunning, ruthless killer.

Beau Bridges has a mentor quality about him, and I think he is a great cast for this type of role. Films adapted from video games have a horrible track record, but surely one day the trend will be broken and a victor will emerge. Is this the film to do it? I don’t know. I will say that with Beau and Mark on board, the cast is shaping up better than most and if any film has a shot of bucking the norm – this may be it.

Max Payne was an enjoyable game and it would be cool to see a decent film adaptation.

  1. well.. i REALLY dont see Mark Wahlberg has Max Payne.. he’s not COOL enough man.. he would be a better choise to be cast has a villian in that movie or something..

  2. I really hope they don’t blow this Max Payne has one of the greatest stories in the video game world and when i played it when it was on the ps2 I hoped for a movie of Max Payne and I just hope they don’t blow it. Mark Wahlberg was bad ass in shooter which is the best action movie in the last eight years. He seems to choose good roles so lets hope he doesn’t fuck it up. I don’t know who Beau Bridges is off hand. What movies has he been in.

  3. I wonder if the movie will also continue beyond the point at which the second game ends (since the game ends on a rather ambiguous note). I just hope Mila Kunis is not playing Mona, you need a kick ass chick for that role. Mila is a shrimp (as pretty as some may think she is…)
