Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce In Traitor

Don-CheadleDon Cheadle and Guy Pearce are two of the finest actors working in the business today. They both have displayed enormous range, playing radically different and deep characters in their careers, and seem to pull off all those characters with relative ease (as a side note, I know most of you still haven’t seen “Reign Over Me” that Cheadle did with Adam Sandler this year… you really should… he is freaking amazing in it).

So good news! It looks like Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce have signed up to appear together in a new flick being called “Traitor”. Yahoo News gives us this:

The story centers on a CIA operative working undercover with a terrorist group who becomes a terrorist suspect. Cheadle will play the undercover agent, and Pearce is an FBI agent investigating terrorist activities.

Sign me up! I’m a sucker for good espionage movies, and adding talent like Cheadle and Pearce to the mix is nothing but good omens for the project in my opinion. The only down side to this for me (and it’s not that big a deal) is that from the short description, it seems that both of the big stars will be “good guys”. I’d love to see something like this where one of them wears the black hat (Pearce was a great bad guy in The Count Of Monte Cristo)

  1. Traitor, starring Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce open in theaters today.
FBI agent Roy Clayton (Guy Pearce) heads the investigation into a dangerous international conspiracy, all clues seem to lead back to former U.S. Special Operations officer, Samir Horn (Don Cheadle). An international thriller set against a jigsaw puzzle of covert counter-espionage operations hits theaters today!

  2. John,
I think you failed to mention that this movie is a pitch from …

    STEVE MARTIN!!????

Apparently Steve Martin pitched this movie while on the set of bringing down the house. Must’ve been inspired by Queen Latifah’s criminal antics.

    Should be interesting anyway …

    Were you aware of this?
