Now I remember the red-band trailer for the upcoming Evil Dead film vividly. That shit still has me waking up in cold sweats from time to time and although the Green band one was a bit more tame but definitely left the impression that this movie was going to be graphic, which usually doesn’t jive too well with the MPAA. That being said the official rating has been released and I doubt anyone will be surprised.
So, it should come as no surprise that Alvarez posted this to his Twitter account: “Was proud of scoring a NC17 when submitted! But we had to cut stuff out to get an R and get the film into theaters.”
Pride. That his response to the MPAA blackball. I love it, but them having to clean it up for the R rating makes one wonder what will be included on the home release. They may have shot themselves in the foot with this one, as far as their theatrical run, but that home release is looking sweeter and sweeter.
