Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance Script Details Revealed

Details have surfaced about Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance that was written by David S Goyer and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

There are potential spoilers in this synopsis, so consider yourself warned.

Obsessed with Film shares:

The sequel is set several years (possibly even a decade) after the first film, and sees Johnny Blaze in a self-imposed exile from the world. (For some reason when you exile yourself from the world you have to move out of the US and go to Europe…or Mexico, its always one of those) The tormented Blaze sees his demonic powers as a curse rather than a means to do justice. The former stuntman is then approached by Moreau, a member of the monastic order of the warrior / archangel Michael. Moreau needs someone capable of protecting a mother and son duo (Nadva and Dannv) who are being hunted by a character named Roarke. Roarke also seems to have specific interests with the Rider, and possess intricate knowledge of the bounty hunter and his “different identities over the centuries.”

So as reported, this is not going to be a Reboot, but rather a direct sequel that will pick up later.

I would have rather seen a reboot with someone younger behind the flaming wheels, but if they are going to sequel it, it makes sense that they went with Cage again.

Lets just hope that this doesn’t switch Cage back into his ‘off mode’ for films as he has been putting out some pretty good films as of late.

  1. My main concerns: Despite the knack for digital camras and placing them at wacky dutch angles such as the Crank films and Gamer, I’m not a huge fan of Neveldine/Taylor. However, that pointed out, some of that kinetic energy (minus the sillyness) might actually work for this film.

I’m not sure what the “spoilers” are. We already knew that Roxanne (Eva Mendes) was out of the picture. This is also an reworked version of one of Goyer’s drafts for the first film (which was not used); the only “spoilers” I can thinkof at this time is “knowledge of past Riders” and the bad guy is after someone named “Danny” and the subtitle is “Spirit Of Vnggeance’.

    But that’s about it.

I’ll probably still cut it slack and see it. But I haven’t really warmed up to N/T’s style.

  2. Dont know what to think on this one, Yeah Cage was pretty cool in the role, It had some decent moments, but overall stunk do to a weak villan/villans and a hot but very bad actress in the lead. (loved her wardrobe though!)

this probally falls into Hulk territory, you loved or hated the first and the second couldn’t wipe away the 1st one.(even though it’s pace was better)

    well see

  3. The first one was such garbage, although it was a movie with huge potential. Hopefully this sequel can rebound. But even if it does I’m afraid it won’t be appreciated due to the disaster that the first movie was.
