Quick update on Transformers 3 here. Today we get what seems to be information about the movie’s opening scene. Warning: SPOILER ALERT. There’s a disturbance on the Moon. A robot shaped disturbance. Scientists on Earth see this and the information gets passed up the chain of command. In the White House men in black suits are breathlessly running through the halls, and they burst into the Oval Office. The president is behind the desk, back turned to the door, looking out the window. One of the men tells the president, ‘Sir, something’s happened on the Moon!’ The president turns around.
It’s John F. Kennedy.
Yes, the opening scene of Transformers 3 takes place in 1961 or 1962. The gist of the story has to do with the Transformers’ involvement in the space race, and this is the reason why JFK was so hot to make sure America was first to the Moon. It sounds like a fun direction; there are a lot of stupid conspiracy theories about Neil Armstrong et al meeting ETs on the Moon, and this is a fun way to play with them. I hear this was Spielberg’s idea, and it really does sound like something he’d come up with. If you’re like me and you like the Spielberg-influenced Transformers but hate the mostly Spielberg-free Transformers 2, this is all good news.
Doesn’t sound bad, but I’m not too excited about it. Personally, it’s just ok. I do give credit to the fact that it’s something different, and pretty cool to start the film with. Apparently it’s been said that this opening sequence was Spielberg’s idea; and it shows. Let’s hope Bay can bring the idea home with his directing style. We’ll see…

I would love to see omega supreme or trypticon just because they were awesome in the new tf game lol and it brought me back.This opening flashback sequence maybe it could be zeta prime on the moon that be cool.

Sounds interesting, I just hope they announce any new robots to expect soon. I’m kinda hoping they introduce Blur and have the original voice actor reprise the role for him (I think it was the guy who used to do the old Micro Machines commercials). Maybe even introduce Ultra Magnus and have him debate the chain of command with Optimus, an internal struggle between two factions would something to explore.
So the government finds an alien robot and possibly keeps it a prisoner in order to learn more about it.
Didn’t they do that in the first one?
Sounds nice, but sounds a little recycled also. Probably be a better teaser trailer than in the actually movie, altough as a teaser it will also be recycled.
I was never interested in watching it, but this sounds like a nice idea.
