With the flurry of casting news revolving around X-Men First Class, it seems everyone and Kevin Bacon is set to be attached to this film.
What? There is a a rumour that even Kevin Bacon will be joining the cast of X-Men First Class? As the Villain??
I’m told that Kevin Bacon has the offer and is negotiating to play the villain role in X-Men: First Class. Not sure of his character, and they have to make his deal, but Bacon would line up nicely alongside James McAvoy (Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto)
I heard the rumour on the weekend, but nothing to substantiate it since.
The movie is setting up nicely to show the establishment of the school and then having a split of the two founders and the students facing off. Xavier and Magneto cite irreconcilable differences and go their separate ways but not before making a mess first.
If they introduce a villain at all, it would just be to show a need for the school to exist. Then in discarding this token badguy the differences in Xavier’s Dream and Magneto’s Vision would be the real conflict.
So if its true, what throwaway Villain would Bacon play?
He might make a good Nathaniel Essex, setting the tone for the ever manipulative Mr Sinister? Have him and his Marauders make an appearance, get him chatting with Remy LeBeau and set the stage for Sinister to return in X-Men 4?
That I could go for. If this proves to be anything more than random internet rumour.
I’m starting to think that the Hellfire Club and possibly the Hellions will be part of this movie. Bacon could be one of the Hellfire Club, along with the White Queen.
It’s true, X-Men first class is set to come out next year in June. June 3rd if you’re exact. I’m excited about this movie! :D It should be good!
I’ve often thought of how to fix the pit falls of X3. And if they had Bacon play Sinister they could easily bring back Cyclops and Jean as clones. Since Essex is meant to be a genetic genius.
i can see him playing a villian like Senator kelly or stryker from the other films, someone to speak out against muntants. he’ll be the reason that xavier and magneto to start question each other.
If he did play Mr. Sinister, the idea of having him return in X-men 4 is great. The only sucky thing is Cyclops and Jean are dead so they couldn’t explore Sinister’s story with those two. Maybe they could set up Apocalypse in one of these movies as well.
Jean/Phoenix atomized Xavier, and he lived. They only found Scott’s glasses and assumed him dead.
Jean has died a few times in the comics.
Just sayin.
I would definitely like to see them brought back to life, they are two very important characters. Bringing Cyclops back would be an easy fix, but we saw Wolverine stab Jean in the stomach. I’m worried it would feel like a cheap move to bring her back. But then again, killing off characters left and right in X-Men 3 was an even cheaper move, so maybe it could work.
