Good Luck Chuck 2?

Sometimes I question the right of humanity to exist. This story only makes me doubt it even more. According to Jessica Alba, there might be a Good Luck Chuck 2 on the horizon. No… really. I wouldn’t make up such lies.

Look, I like Dane Cook as a person. I’ve met him on a couple of occasions and I can tell you he seems like a legitimately cool guy. Very polite, very generous with his time and very personable. I’d watch the next UFC with him for sure. But the man can NOT act to save his life. Not in the least. He has no business being in movies, and one of the best examples of that was the original Good Luck Chuck.

Our friends over at Latino Review give us this very disturbing news:

Jessica Alba, via Twitter, updated fans of Good Luck Chuck (fans being Dane Cook and his friends) that there might potentially be a sequel. From Jessica’s Twitter page:

I have good news Before I go, this is for the good luck chuck fans :) Just recieved word that Good luck 2 may Get the greenlight!

Dear heavens… someone just shoot me now. This was a HORRIBLE movie and didn’t do too well at the box office. When in the hell would a studio want to make another one? Are they just trying to throw anything together to fulfill their contracts with Alba and Cook?

Alba may be the only person in Hollywood today who is a worse actor than Cook… so I guess the two go well together. Uggg.

  1. I had no idea that Lionsgate was in such bad shape that they would actually think people would want a sequel to this mess

It’s also a bigger disappointment to me.
    Good Luck Chuck was successful in finally turning me against Jessica Alba;

    Good Luck Chuck was successful in thinking Dane Cook’s talent is/was being squandered;

Good Luck Chuck had a small cameo from Annie Wood (the dating game show Bzz! from the 90s) who I am a fan of. Her brief blink and miss it scene was merciful. So I forgive.

    So The Question Is:

Who the hell really wants this sequel made???
    Someone who Twitters.
    Jessica Alba,

    Hey y’know what? TRUE STORY.
I was in the Blockbuster today, looking at New Release Tuesday rack. I did not rent it but my eyes did not play a trick. I saw, on the shelf, a DTV sequel to Into The Blue.

Jessica Alba is not in the movie. She is not on the cover. At first I thought she is too good for DTV sequels. Then I recalled the first Blue and Good Luck Chuck. No, I am wrong. The DTV sequel wanted nothing to do with her…

    I know. I’m being cold.
    Mean.
    Hater.

    But I’ll have mercy, compassion.
Shoot, if one studio can make a fifty Children Of The Corn sequels, then another studio can give us fifty Good Luck Chucks

    Think positive!
    Who needs waterboarding terrorists?
    Give them something more inhumane!

    Keep up the good work!

    1. Into the Blue 2 was just marketing to tie an unknown script to a recognizable franchise. They would sooner have the handful of Into the Blue fans be drawn to it and give it a chance than a direct to video sequel that no one will ever hear about.

Also, Laura Vandervoort is in this. This girl is a billion times hotter in person than she ever was on Smallville.

    2. Oh man. It just occurred to me!

Someone must have found a script where a warlock puts a hex on an ex-girlfriend nick-named ‘Charlie’ where every dude she sleeps with marries another woman within two months!

Jessica and Dane will be nowhere to be found!
DTV- I get it now! Thanks!

  2. The only reason I saw Mr. Brooks was so I could watch him get killed. It’s quite sickening that he’s one of the best selling comedians out there.

    1. OMG WAY TO SPOIL THE MOVIE FOR ME! WTF I HATE YOU. *cries*. I am gonna tell all of my 14 facebook friends how big of jerk you are.

Just kidding…I don’t care. He was such random person to be placed in that roll for Mr. Brooks. It was indeed enjoyable when he got “whacked”. Oh snap! see what I did there? Totally an awesome pun…..cause he got whacked with that shovel and stuff…. haha…. I am so good.

  3. Good Luck Chuck wasn’t that bad of a movie. Its not one of the best movies ever made but it wasn’t mean to be. I was entertained for a few hours and that’s all I expected from it.

But it in no way left itself open to a sequel so why? I liked the first and have no interest in a second

  4. I won’t comment on the talent (or lack there of) of Jessica Alba and Dane Cook. Personally I don’t feel obliged to tell anyone how I feel about them, but I can say I disagree with all of you concerning Alba….

That said, just what could they do with GLC2? I mean wasn’t the whole point in 1 was that he had some sort of ‘curse’ and it was reversed by the time he got to kiss the girl at the end?

  5. What studio is greenlighting it? Since when did Hilter resurrect and open a film production company with the intention of committing genocide against movie goers? This is some old bullshit.

Good Luck Chuck had a no sequel ending.

Let me guess, Dane Cook and Jessica Alba move to Antarctica where the penguins are having mating issues so Dane Cook has to fuck every one of them so the penguins can find their soul mates and repopulate the penguin race back out of near extinction.

    Sounds good to me…

  6. I actually didn’t think Good Luck Chuck was as bad as everyone else did. I didn’t think it was great but I thought it was worth watching once.

I also don’t have a problem with his acting. I DO have a problem with his stand-up (chiefly his screaming teenage girl fans) but I think his acting is fine overall.

  7. The first movie was a trainwreck, panned by critics and a flop in box office. Why would you take a failure and make it worse by adding a sequel, which would actually be even worse? Yeah, I’ll put this on the list of movies I will watch in hell, along with Superhero movie and Disaster Movie. I mean Jessica Alba is hot, but go buy a Maxim and save the film.
